Abstract
This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt with Steve Girard of Benton-Lane Winery. The interview took place at Benton-Lane Winery in Monroe, Oregon on June 27, 2018.
Steve Girard is co-founder (with his wife Carol) of Benton-Lane Winery. In this interview, Girard talks about his early appreciation for wine and how he got hooked on Oregon Pinot Noir. He also discusses acquiring his unique property, planting his vines, and making his wine. Girard emphasizes that it takes a team, not a single person, to make wine successfully.
