Abstract
This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt with Grace Evenstad of Domaine Serene. The interview took place at Domaine Serene in Dayton, Oregon on August 24, 2018.
Grace Evenstad is the owner (with husband Ken Evenstad) of Domaine Serene. In this interview, Evenstad explains how she and her husband came into the wine industry, fell in love with wine (especially Pinot Noir), and eventually landed in Oregon. She describes the complex yet balanced style of Domaine Serene's wine and discusses the challenges with wine distribution. Evenstad also discusses her relationship to Linfield College and the $6 million donation she and her husband gave to establish the Evenstad Center for Wine Education.
