Description
Phillip DeVito is presented with his first Wine Spectator Grand Award by Marvin Shankin, the editor and publisher of Wine Spectator magazine. DeVito won this award every year from 1983-1994 for his wine cellar at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. The Grand Award is the highest designation the magazine gives out and, as of 2014, DeVito's program at Salishan is the only one in Oregon to have been awarded the designation. The plaque reads: "Salishan Lodge, 1983. For one of the greatest wine lists in America."
