Abstract

Dr. David Groff came to Linfield College in 1987, first working in the Division of Continuing Education and later serving as the director of Linfield's Portland campus until his retirement in 2009. During his time at Linfield, he worked to improve the nursing program and re-establish the relationships between the two campuses. Groff took several groups of students to Africa as part of January term study abroad classes.

This interview was conducted in Peterson Hall at Linfield's Portland campus. Topics covered include Groff's start with the college, different challenges the campus faced, African Studies classes he taught, and life after retirement, including his volunteer work.
