Description
This poster showcases a design for a prominent prop, the Differential Engine, featured in Ada and the Engine by Lauren Gunderson, which was presented by Linfield Theatre in November 2017. Ada and the Engine tells the story of Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage, a noted mathematician, inventor, and mechanical engineer. Babbage built a model for the Differential Engine in hopes of using it to help raise funds to build the actual engine. This poster provides details about the design and building of the prop. In the play, the model is featured during scene 2. Afterwards, it was kept just out of the limelight on stage right for the duration of the show.
This poster was presented at the 2018 Kennedy Center American Theatre Festival Region VII Conference in Spokane, Washington.
