Physics Department

In the Department of Physics, students can choose between physics and applied physics majors, or the 3-2 engineering program. In addition to developing a strong theoretical knowledge of physics, students practice hands-on skills by completing independent projects and research.

Graduates frequently go on to earn advanced degrees in areas such as physics, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, and materials science. Careers pursued by alumni include academia, engineering, research and development, medicine, patent law, and secondary education.

In addition to courses geared toward science majors, the Physics Department offers a variety of elective courses, meant for any student with an interest in understanding the physical world.
