Jay Somers is photographed during an oral history interview at J. Christopher Wines in Newberg, Oregon on August 30, 2017. Somers was interviewed by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt.

Jay Somers is the owner and winemaker at J. Christopher Wines. Previously a brewer for McMenamins, Somers learned winemaking at Adelsheim Vineyard and Cameron Winery in Oregon, as well as Dry Creek Vineyard in New Zealand, before founding J. Christopher Wines in 1996. Somers crafts wines in the Old World style and follows biodynamic principles for making wine.
