Abstract
This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt with Mike and Robin Murto of Murto Vineyard. The interview took place at the Jereld R. Nicholson Library at Linfield College on July 5, 2018.
Mike and Robin Murto are owners and vineyard managers of Murto Vineyard in Dundee, Oregon. In this interview, the Murtos discuss why they chose to grow grapes and the difficulties in taking care of the land alongside their day jobs. The Murtos' unique trait is that they do all the pruning and tractor work themselves, making their grapes one-of-a-kind. The couple discusses the challenges seen within the wine industry, as well as their hopes for the industry.
