Abstract

This interview with Mario Carbajal of Sokol Blosser Winery was conducted by Jeff Peterson, Director of the Linfield Center for the Northwest. The interview took place at Sokol Blosser Winery in Dayton, Oregon on July 1, 2013.

Mario Carbajal is a cellar worker at Sokol Blosser Winery. In this interview, Carbajal discusses how he came to the United States and wound up in Oregon working for Sokol Blosser Winery. He also talks about the contributions of Latinos in the wine industry, his thoughts on the ¡Salud! program, and what has changed in the 17 years since he started at Sokol Blosser. Carbajal was interviewed as part of the Beyond the Vines: Latinos in the Oregon wine industry project, an exhibit created by Linfield College students Julian Adoff and Lydia Heins as part of the Keck Summer Collaborative Research Program under the auspices of the Linfield Center for the Northwest.
