Abstract
This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College Archives staff Rich Schmidt with Dick Ponzi of Ponzi Vineyards. The interview took place at the Jereld R. Nicholson Library at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon on November 24, 2015.
Dick Ponzi is the owner of Ponzi Vineyards, established in 1970. In this interview, Ponzi discusses his origins in the wine industry and expounds upon the history of two early wine industry organizations, the Oregon Winegrowers Association and the Winegrowers Council of Oregon. Ponzi shares his recollections and speaks about the struggles and success the organizations faced when trying to pass legislation and market Oregon wine.
