Abstract

This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rachael Cristine Woody and Whitman College archivist Melissa Salrin with Norm McKibben of Pepper Bridge Winery. The interview took place on July 16, 2014 and included topics such as McKibben's transition from the construction industry to wine, his involvement in the expansion of the Walla Walla AVA, and the uniqueness of the Walla Walla Valley as a grape-growing region.

McKibben discusses the role he played in the expansion of the Walla Walla AVA and his involvement in the Oregon Wine Board. He also covers how important the business and marketing sides of the wine industry are to the success of a winery and wine region.
