Abstract

This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt with Jerry Bell, Jr. of JBJR Productions. The interview took place on August 1, 2018 in Beaverton, Oregon.

Jerry Bell, Jr. is an actor, producer, film director, and the owner of JBJR Productions, a production company focused on creating films that address issues challenging society. In this interview, Bell, Jr. discusses how he got into acting after a previous career as an engineer and how he later pursued his own creative work. Bell, Jr. explains how this passion led him to be a director, and he talks about making the documentary Red, White & Black: An Oregon Wine Story highlighting the challenges and stories of minority winemakers. Bell, Jr. describes learning more about the wine industry and the impact it can have on people and culture.
