Description
Onlookers applaud as Robert C. McHarness is awarded his honorary Doctor of Science degree at Linfield College's 1982 commencement ceremony. McHarness, a 1928 alumnus, worked for DuPont and was involved in the discovery and manufacture of Teflon and Freon.
On stage, President Charles U. Walker (behind podium) hands a diploma to McHarness (right of podium) as the two shake hands.
