Abstract
Jack and Marjorie Hunderup attended Linfield College together in the early 1940s. Marjorie studied home economics, and Jack studied accounting. They met through mutual friends and multiple encounters in the business office, where Jack worked. They were married within a week after Marjorie’s graduation, and their honeymoon was a train ride to Chicago for Jack's graduate school.
In this interview, the Hunderups discuss their affiliations with Linfield and their relationship with the institution over the years. The couple shares details about their lives together, including their secret to seventy years of marriage. They also explain how World War II affected the school environment, as well as their personal experiences with professors.
