This collection of photographs and maps documents the life and work of Dr. Jane Claire Dirks-Edmunds. After graduating from Linfield College in 1937, Dr. Dirks-Edmunds returned to teach at her alma mater for nearly 30 years. She devoted 50 years of her life to studying the Douglas fir trees along Oregon’s coastline; hers is the most comprehensive ecological study in the Northwest.
