Description

This diploma from the University of Illinois awards the Doctor of Philosophy degree to Jane Claire DIrks (later Jane Claire Dirks-Edmunds) in June of 1941. Dirks-Edmunds began to study Zoology in Illinois immediately after earning her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Linfield College in 1937. Dr. Dirks-Edmunds received her Ph.D. on her 27^th birthday and returned to Linfield to teach in the Biology department from 1941-1974.
