Abstract
Wine industry accounting presents valuable and unique opportunities for student learning and academic research. Students improve and integrate their knowledge of cost accounting and financial accounting effectively through industry-specific interactive case study work. Wine industry accounting is unique as wineries typically have long operating cycles and determining the cost of wine presents an unusual set of challenges. There is a dearth of wine industry-specific accounting literature available so opportunities for dissemination abound. In my work, I will continue to use interactive wine accounting case studies in the classroom and begin to write, and study further, in pursuit of publishing.
