Abstract
The recent addition of an interdisciplinary, globally oriented wine studies program is an important one for Linfield College. This sabbatical focused on exploring wine regions in South America, including Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia, as well as those of Spain, while walking the Camino de Santiago, through wine-making regions of Navarra, Rioja, Tierra de Leon, Bierzo, Ribeira Sacra, and Galicia, with peripheral trips to Burgundy and sparkling wine regions of Southern England, in Sussex. During this period interviews were conducted and posted on a new website, Vinum Docet, examining cultural issues, foreign labor, foreign investment, food culture, and wine, as well as the history of wine in both the old and new world.
