Abstract
Previously in my writing career at Linfield, I have focused on short fiction and poetry. This is my first serious attempt at creating a more substantial piece of work. Writing a novel is like putting together an abstract puzzle, the pieces of which are without clear-cut edges. There are a dozen places where each piece could fit, but each one has its perfect spot. It’s the job of the writer to find that perfect spot. I plan to continue working on The Lady Automaton until I feel it is complete, and then seek publication.
