Abstract
Students enrolled in the Regional Interdisciplinary Internship course prepare final presentations covering all of their work during the spring semester and present their work to their colleagues, Linfield staff and faculty, community partners, and community sponsors of the internship programs. Cassie Kwon interned with the Yamhill Enrichment Society (YES) and gave this presentation as part of her YES Internship during 2012.
This research project investigated Chinese-Americans who resided in Yamhill County in the early 1900s. Kwon examined the living conditions of Chinese-Americans in McMinnville, Oregon and researched about the lives of two Chinese men, Quong Hop and Louie Loy. This project hopes to raise awareness about a minority group with a long history in Yamhill County.
