Description
My project focuses on the automatic control system for the smart trash can. With the automatic control system, the trash can could be understood as a robot, and it has its own brain to think and act. In order to observe people coming to the trash can, the light sensor acts as the “human eye” to detect the residents and open the lid for them. The light sensor works by emitting and then detecting a light signal. The motor acts like a human’s hands. It helps to lift the lid up, so people can throw garbage without touching the handle of the lid. An Arduino board, which controls the electric signals, is like the “brain” because it can analyze information from the “eyes.” Then, it will let the “hands” open the lid when the “eyes” find people come to throw the garbage away. Overall, the goal is to make people’s life easier, and reduce contact so that people stay healthier.
