Description
This presentation explores the ways in which Rebecca Clarke and Paul Hindemith, two prominent composers of the 20th century, explore and break conventions on traditional musical structures with Clarke’s Viola Sonata (1919) and Hindemith’s Viola Sonata, Op.11 No.4 (1919) by taking ideas of the 19th century and expanding their limits with form, concepts of duality, and unifying musical ideas.
