Description

Our collaborative research was focused on Professor Buccola's current book project, which is about the 1965 debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley at the Cambridge Union. The book examines the "story" of the debate (how these two American public intellectuals ended up squaring off on stage that night) and the significance of this clash between this leading voice of radicalism and this leading voice of conservatism in American political thought.
