Description
I estimate a demand model for consumer credit using time series data over the years 1995 to 2011. I study the impact that disposable income, the price of new motor vehicles, the price of college tuition, the price of retail goods, the interest rate for new motor vehicle loans, the interest rate on federal education loans, and the interest rate for credit cards have on consumer credit outstanding. This model lacks supply effects, causing my estimated results to suffer from simultaneous equation bias.
