This presentation is a historical investigation of McMinnville’s agricultural industry approximately 100 years ago. Topics include physical and economic geography of the region: land use, farming, horticulture, field crops, the mill industry, and land registration/farm ownership. Primary and secondary sources include written description, pictorial representation, and legal records retrieved from the Jereld R. Nicholson Library and the McMinnville Public Library. We will include visual aids in the form of photographs and timelines (including a timeline of the mills in McMinnville, Oregon), and we will use both books, photographs from other students in the class, and photographs that we have taken in order to illustrate our topic.
