Abstract

Camila Thorndike, co-founder and executive director of Oregon Climate, paints a picture of how focused teamwork melts cynicism and unlocks grassroots power. She shares stories accumulated over 10 years in the climate movement, including co-founding Oregon Climate at age 25, garnering a dozen legislative sponsors for the Carbon Price and Dividend bill, and working with a close team of peers to educate and motivate thousands of Oregon voters for climate action. Thorndike provides audience members with a sharper understanding of how political change begins with inner focus and determination, as well as practical steps to advance carbon pricing legislation.
