Volume 4, Number 2 (2007) Fall 2007
Just as Linfield launches its sesquicentennial year, we begin a series that will explore how Linfield has “Connected Learning, Life, and Community” through 150 years. Marvin Henberg, author of the latest Linfield history, Inspired Pragmatism: An Illustrated History of Linfield College, highlights some of Linfield’s early faculty as a supplement to the many stories he included in the book. But even as we look back, we also look ahead to plans for renovating Northup Hall, which served as Linfield's library for 67 years. This issue also covers two students who completed internships, one at the local juvenile department and another at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Ga. Three faculty members are featured for research, service to humanity in Africa, and Fulbright experiences in Germany. And we salute some of our alumni for their achievements profession- ally and in their communities. Join us as we review Linfield’s rich history and look ahead to its dynamic future.
