Abstract

Elena Rodriguez, president and owner of Alumbra Cellars, a Mexican-American family-owned and -operated vineyard and winery, didn't grow up in the wine industry or around vineyards. In fact, she didn't plan to become a farmer, let alone a business owner. In 2005, Rodriguez's father had planted a vineyard in Dayton, Oregon, and in 2014, she took charge of the vineyard and formed Alumbra Cellars. In this lecture, Rodriguez shares her winemaking journey, the history of her vineyard site, information about the Alumbra brand, and her plans for the future.
