Abstract

Dr. Theresa Betancourt presents the keynote address at the opening convocation of the 158^th academic year at Linfield College. In her lecture, Betancourt discusses her career path after graduating from Linfield in 1991, reflects on lessons learned along the way, and draws connections to the book read by all incoming first-year students, Elizabeth Kolbert's The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History.
