Abstract

The U.S. political system seems at times to be inextricably linked to the free market. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't have to be this way. With economic inequality reaching unseen heights, it's time to ask whether this relationship is healthy for democracy, and what can be done moving forward. Marjorie Kelly (senior fellow and executive vice president at The Democracy Collaborative) addresses these issues in this Constitution Day lecture.
