Abstract

This newsletter (No. 12) from Seven Hills Winery presents winemaker Casey McClellan's thoughts on the distinct concept of "Pacific Northwest Winegrowing" and the regional macroclimate. Seven Hills Winery was first established in eastern Oregon before relocating to Walla Walla, Washington, and McClellan explains the winery had a hard time convincing consumers the Walla Walla Valley in Oregon is the same grape-growing region as the Walla Walla Valley in Washington. Educational and marketing efforts from both Oregon and Washington have helped to bridge this gap in understanding. The newsletter also includes release notes for new wines (2002-2004), an announcement of the opening reception for artists featured at Seven Hills Winery (Ian Boyden, Leslie Williams Cain, Elizabeth Harris, Hans Matschukat, and Jeanne McMenemy), information for the Spring Release Weekend and Vintage Walla Walla, and an order form.
