Abstract

This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rachael Cristine Woody with Dr. Will Brown. The interview took place at Southern Oregon University, Hannon Library, on July 30, 2013 and covered topics including Dr. Brown's involvement in the wine industry, how wine got started in Oregon, and early wine industry history in Southern Oregon in the 1970s.

Dr. Brown recounts how he was first introduced to the enjoyment of wine through an Ohio Children's Hospital supervisor while Brown was a resident. Brown continues with the story that led him to California and, finally, to Oregon. Brown learned about wine through a variety of experiences that led him to pursue a second career in the wine industry. The interview covers historical material that Brown produced while attending regional history classes on the Southern Oregon wine region.
