Abstract
This faculty development grant enabled me to attend the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses’ (AWHONN) 2014 Annual Convention, which was held June 14 – 18 in Orlando, Florida. The AWHONN conference offered more than 100 educational sessions, workshops, paper presentations and other events that provided tools and strategies to improve the quality of patient care provided to the incarcerated population I work with. As a nurse educator it also offered evidence-based practice to integrate into the theoretical component of the perinatal concepts I teach in the nursing major.
