Abstract

A small solar go kart has been built over the summer of 2016. A solar panel with area closed to two square meters was used to provide the power needed to operate a small electric motor. The motor was used to drive a one-person go kart. Two senior physics students were working with me in the summer. The test showed that under the full sunshine, between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the kart can travel without using the batteries’ power. Speed of the kart is about 15 miles per hour.
