Subject Area

Journalism and Media Studies

Description

In communities where stories, songs, and ceremonies pass from one generation to the next, culture is not just heritage—it is a lifeline. This project focuses on the development and execution of a strategic promotional campaign for the Native American Rising Generations Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving Native youth and families in Southwest Washington. The campaign included a complete redesign of the foundation’s visual identity—comprising a new logo, brand guidelines, and a modernized website—as well as the creation of targeted promotional materials and a digital content strategy. Emphasis was placed on culturally respectful storytelling, youth-centered messaging, and enhanced outreach via social media platforms.

The project drew on strategic principles from coursework in Graphic Design (ARTS 246), Principles of Public Relations(JAMS 347), and Topics in Digital Art (ARTS 342). A multidisciplinary approach combined digital media production with brand communication strategy to establish a cohesive and engaging public image for the organization. The campaign sought to amplify the foundation’s mission of cultural preservation and youth empowerment while expanding its visibility within both local and digital communities.
