The Pines 1852 tasting room is located in Hood River, with the vineyards predominantly in The Dalles; both sites are in the Columbia Valley AVA. The winery was founded in 2001 by vintner Lonnie Wright, owner of The Pines 1852, and winemaker Peter Rosback. Wright came to the vineyard in 1982; at the time, the struggling, century-old vineyard had been abandoned for 20 years. Now expanded and fruitful, the vineyard is the heart of the wines produced at The Pines 1852.
