Abstract
In this essay, Elin Johnson reflects on her internship with Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services (RAIS) in Anchorage, Alaska. Johnson's internship was inspired by a Linfield College study abroad course (Migration, Identities and Politics in the European Union: France and Spain) focusing on the refugee crisis in Europe.
