From its inception in 1993, the Linfield College Science and Social Science Symposium (sponsored by the Wendell L. Foote Science Endowment, and formerly known as the Linfield College Science Symposium) has provided a venue for students in the sciences and social sciences to present their work to the community. In 2006, a second symposium primarily centered on disciplines within the humanities was established. Each symposium is open to all students involved in research or who have worked on special projects, independent studies, or other suitable class work. The format for all presentations is that of posters or physical displays.
