Description

Jim Prosser is photographed during an oral history interview at J. K. Carriere in Newberg, Oregon on August 31, 2017. Prosser was interviewed by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt.

Jim Prosser is the owner and winemaker at J.K. Carriere Wines. Founded in 1999, the winery's name comes from a contraction of his grandfathers' names. In 2007, Prosser purchased 40 additional acres of land on Parrett Mountain, and in 2009 he planted vineyard blocks and completed a new winery building. J.K. Carriere produces high acid, smooth tannin, classically built Pinot Noir, along with a small quantity of mineral-oriented Chardonnay.
