Abstract

This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rich Schmidt with Erin Stephenson, the co-owner of 3rd Street Flats and the Atticus Hotel in McMinnville, Oregon. The interview took place at the Jereld R. Nicholson Library at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon on May 25, 2017.

Erin Stephenson is the co-owner (with husband Travis Easterday and business partner Brian Shea) of 3rd Street Flats and co-owner (with Brian Shea) of the Atticus Hotel in McMinnville, Oregon. Started in 2009, 3rd Street Flats is a boutique lodging company that houses eleven uniquely designed apartments in two historic buildings. Established in 2018, the Atticus Hotel is a small, independently owned and operated luxury hotel catering to Oregon wine country tourists. In this interview, Stephenson talks about her love of McMinnville and the positive connection between the wine industry and hospitality. She also discusses the tourism industry and her latest project, the Atticus Hotel.
