Abacela Winery is located in Roseburg, Oregon in the Umpqua Valley AVA. Owners Earl and Hilda Jones purchased the land in 1992 and planted their first vines in 1995, including Tempranillo, a variety which had not previously been planted in the Northwest. Earl, a scientist, determined that the area would be ideal for the Spanish vine and constantly explored and conducted trials to produce the best possible grapes.

In addition to Tempranillo, Abacela also produces Syrah, Malbec, Merlot, Grenache, Albariño, and Viognier, as well as a number of minor varietals. For more information, please refer to the Abacela Winery website.

This collection is a work in progress and will eventually include a video interview, photographs, and documents.
