Description

In his Foreword to this volume, Nico Castel states: "Anton Belov, a young Russian baritone at the Juilliard School, was my student for several years. He showed great interest in creating the definitive IPA table for the lyric Russian language and in time I managed to interest him in the project of writing translations of Russian operas with phonetic IPA transcriptions in a format similar to what I had done for Leyerle Publications with French, German and Italian operas... He took to the task with great enthusiasm and now we all can be glad to see the fruits of his labor in this book, containing some of the best loved Russian operas in the repertoire. We look forward to a second book in the near future... Leyerle Publications should be pleased to add yet another great reference volume to its long catalogue of invaluable books for singers."
