Description

Artist's Statement

Memories. They are what make us individuals, each person different from one another. The way we view and live life is shaped by nature and nurture, but also our memories. Every one of us has at least one significant memory that has affected the way we live our lives at this very moment, whether this memory is positive or negative.

In these photographs I depict items to which for me such memories are attached. Through the use of a single point of focus with fuzzy distortion around the edges I seek to give the viewer the sense that they are looking back into the past. I know that as I grow older, my memories become more fuzzy. Whether it was childhood barbeques or listening to the young Michael Jackson records or dancing my little heart out, these personal nostalgic memories have shaped me into the person that I am today.
